Our Story

Anyone who has been aware of tabletop roleplaying games for long enough has inevitably noticed the culture shift that has happened around the population of players. The frame of reference for stories told, and who is telling them, has monumentally changed.

And we are here for it. In the biggest of ways. And we want more.

Ravenwood started as an effort to build community for roleplaying games in a way that hadn’t been tried before. Our goal is to create a space for everyone to be able to enjoy playing in an immersive environment, with purpose-built tables, miniatures and terrain, only typically available to the most affluent or established players - and then pair that opportunity with workshops and community events intended to positively guide players, and impact further social change by bringing us all closer together.

Find Your Adventure

Our self-led adventurers are...

Players and Game Masters/Narrators who want more immersion in their gamespace. They have a desire for ambiance, thought-provoking miniatures and terrain, and toseeandfeelthe stories they’re creating together with their group. They might already have a space at home, or not - but appreciate having the overhead effort of hosting games handled by our team.

Our guided adventurers are...

Curious about table-top roleplaying in some way - whether looking for a new-player-friendly game, a therapeutic game, or to experience playing a character alongside their long-time forever-gamemaster. They are looking for something new, guided by one of our experienced and trained narrators. Maybe they’re experienced players, or not - regardless, our staff Narrators are equipped to bring their stories to life.

The teams who come to play with us are looking for...

A team-building experience that’s unique, and outside the box. They may have tried karaoke, or axe-throwing, or an escape room - but they still want something unique. These teams are looking to learn to tell stories collaboratively with each other; to see each other succeed individually - as well as a team; and to rediscover their ability to play.

Our youth programming is designed for...

Kids who are imaginative, analytical, or who just enjoy playing games with others. Whether your child is looking to find a group of friends through our programming, or they’re coming to the table with an existing group - they’ll come away with stories and experiences that they will remember well into the future.

Ravenwood exists on stolen land

We work and live on the Ancestral territories of the Haldimand Tract, land that was promised to the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations of the Grand River and is within the territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples. This land was taken from its original people through the violent and disingenuous processes of colonialism.

We believe that our collective well-being and liberation is connected to Indigenous Sovereignty on these stolen lands and worldwide. We are committed to ensuring that we are healing & repairing relationships to each other and the land through our work and personal contributions as best as we have the capacity and ability to do at any given time.
